Welcome to our website! We’re so glad you’re here to check us out. This page will help you get to know our church a little better and answer some question most people want to know before visiting.
What kind of church is 6th & Gibbs?
We are a Bible-based, Christ-centered church (church of Christ). We have no denominational affiliation. We have no creed but Christ and no book but the Bible. That means that the Bible is our ultimate authority on all matters of faith and life. Our prayer, hope and goal is that everyone connected to 6th & Gibbs will grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
What should I expect if I come to one of your services?
Expect to feel welcome no matter what your background or current situation is. You’ll be greeted at the door and welcomed into our church. Please feel free to sit wherever you want. Our praise team begins our service with a blended music selection, before we continue our worship with Communion and a message.
What are the times of your services?
We have one service at 10:00am.
How long are your services?
A typical Sunday morning worship service lasts a little over an hour.
What should I wear?
Come as you are. People dress in anything from shorts, blue jeans and t-shirts to slacks and button-ups. Dress as you wish, we hope with modesty in mind. We are just happy you are here.
What should I do with my kids?
We see each other as our family and so we love kids of all ages.
If your children are nursery age (Newborn-age 3), we have a nursery area where they can spend the service.
If they are in Pre-K through 5th grade, they will stay with you in the service through communion, and then be dismissed to our Children’s church program where there is a specific message and fun designed just for them.
However, we want you to feel comfortable while being here, so you are welcome to keep your children with you during the service, if you’d like.
What about youth?
6th & Gibbs’ youth group meets every Sunday night from 4:30pm-6:30pm! We do various games/activities alongside a lesson. Our mission statement as a youth ministry is to create an inclusive and dynamic space, empowering every young individual to take meaningful steps towards Jesus.
How often do you celebrate communion?
Our church family receives communion together every weekend to remember Christ’s sacrificial death for our sins. We invite all baptized believers to take the sacraments with us.
Do I have to give money?
Only if you feel led to. Offering is for our regular attenders. If you’d like to give to this ministry, there is a box in our lobby or you can give online.
If you desire to give, please know 6th & Gibbs is devoted to being careful stewards of God’s resources within our care.
